Academy of Mindful Movement Instructor

“The practice of yoga poses and postures should give students the opportunity to learn more about  themselves so they can self-soothe and heal.
The Academy’s training built on this foundation and offered me new techniques and teaching methods to enhance my students’ opportunity for self-discovery.”

Testimonials

“I liked to listen to other trainees, the answers they gave, their ideas and what they do in their movement lessons. Even though they are in completely different disciplines than me, it helps me with my classes.” Murat Demirtas / Turkish Belly Dance / Pilates / Foam Roller

“The training videos and follow up questions make the material easy to understand and remember. Going over the material in the live group sessions reinforces our learning. And the Pods allow us to think about and apply what we have learned to improve our teaching.” LiSi Yang / Self-Care &  Posture Transformation / Personal Training

“I experienced Joy when relating to the other participants. Thereʻs something very special about meeting with like-minded souls.” Mālia Helelā / Hula Dance / Lomilomi

“First, I want to just say there is a swirling sensation in my chest which I recognize as feeling excitement and interest. I am so interested in what Renée and Douglas have prepared and to interact with all of my fellow trainees!…Anyway, I am loving the questions and ideas that are being lit inside me already from our online group session! I really appreciate the work that has gone into this and have huge respect for this monumental project/dream that you’ve manifested!” Eddie Oroyan / Contemporary Dance / Parkour
“The standard of Mindful movement teachers being in tune with our own body sensations has struck me the most. It’s made me realize that while… yes I am in tune with my body, I’m not always honoring or listening to it. I have to practice what I preach, even at this phase of life in small ways. I know I’m not alone in this, as the numbers for teachers getting burnt out or injury is high. The format was more collaborative and joyful than I have  experienced online before,  so kudos for that.  I loved everything about playing this week, and it’s expanding my thoughts to include more of it in my classes!”Roxy Menzies / Yamuna®️/ Gyrotonic®️

“I’ve also experienced Joy when another participant has confirmed or echoed a universal belief of mine AND also when another participant has surprised me with a different way of thinking about something.”Robin Shepard / Yoga / AIReal yoga

“This training has been really a beautiful time to reflect on my past experiences with the “no pain no gain” mentality. I played ice hockey for 20+ years, all the way through the professional ranks and by age 16, I could barely get out of bed in the morning due to debilitating back issues stemming from mindless training. Body performance always took priority over body safety. This training has allowed me to reflect back upon those days and what I could have done differently if put in that situation again. Now, I feel empowered to go back into the world of hockey, only this time from a coach’s standpoint, and I look forward to putting body safety at the top of my players’ priority list. Almost everything was new to me and I loved every moment. The balance of how the content was displayed was really AWEsome. It was just enough information to take in and process and not too much to get overwhelmed at. “ Mitchell Snider / Hockey / Yoga / Personal Training
